The Athletic Department at Overland High School welcomes you to one of the finest high schools in the nation. This information is intended to answer questions you may have concerning the athletic programs at Overland preceding your first days on our campus next fall.

CHERRY CREEK SCHOOL DISTRICT ATHLETIC REGISTRATION PROCESS

The official start date for ALL FALL SPORTS is August 6, 2018Prior to being cleared to practice, each student athlete must have the online athletic registration forms completed, a physician’s clearance turned into the Athletics Office, and the district athletic fee paid.

Athletes will NOT be allowed to try out until all 3 things are completed:

  1. online registration

  2. physician’s clearance

  3. payment

General fall sports information will be available online at the end of the school year. The Athletic Office will be closed for the summer, and will re-open on July 24. Beginning July 24th we will accept athletic registration & physicals from 8:00 – 2:00. Regular office hours begin on August 6th (7:30 – 4:00).

The Cherry Creek School District requires an athletic fee for each sport/season.

NOTE:  Cheer and Poms are 2-season sports. For out-of-district fees, and for home-school “athlete only” students, please call the Athletic Office at 720-747-3614.

PARTICIPATION GUIDE

2018-2019

SPORTS

If you are interested in going out for interscholastic sports at Overland High School, make sure you are familiar with the various programs offered and the procedures involved for registration and participation. To get involved in a sport, it is highly advised that you attend a meeting approximately one month before the season starts. The information for this meeting will be posted throughout the school and students will also be notified through the student announcements via school email.

CUT POLICY

Some sports will involve cutting students from a team. This is due to many factors, the most important being the safety and welfare of students. Other reasons are: limited numbers needed on a particular team, facilities and space availability, equipment limitations, lack of athletic ability and individual coaching philosophies. Team cut policies are listed below. "Cut/No-Cut" policies may change due to future legislation and/or budget decisions.
